Weather Monitoring "Enhances Business" for Aerial Cinema Company

Image
“ I maging the world with lidar, photography, and aerial cinema” is the theme for GEO1 . From a hangar located near Los Angeles, Calif., they offer services including lidar, high resolution imaging, and geo-spatial analysis. Orion Weather Station and Solar Radiation Sensor CEO Ron Chapple recently expressed appreciation for the free firmware upgrade to their Weather MicroServer, and sent a couple nice photos of their Orion Weather Station installation which includes a separate solar radiation sensor. “The station has worked perfectly since installation,” he noted. He added that their weather station “enhances our business” in these three ways: 1. Location-specific weather data is provided for pilots landing helicopters at their hangar. 2. Freely sharing weather data enables good business relationships with both clients and competitors.   3. The weather data is integrated into deliverables when acquiring engineering-grade lidar within 15 miles of their facility on electric util...

How to Install an Orion Weather Station Video

Image
In this 4-minute video, Columbia Weather Systems technical support guru Vincent explains the process of installing an Orion weather station all-in-one sensor module with ultrasonic wind speed and direction, impact rain sensor, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. Video includes description of the sensor, alignment of wind direction, connection of lightning arrestor, Interface Module and connections to various weather monitoring options. New Presentation Highlights Air Quality Monitoring System

Just in time for Air Quality Awareness Week... A new self-guided presentation provides an overview of the new Orion AQM Air Quality Monitoring System with details on sensor components and features. Compactly designed to help make our environment a healthier and safer place by measuring, analyzing, and understanding the data of air pollution, the Orion AQM is easily deployable in air quality monitoring networks for urban areas, industrial sites, and transportation hubs. Orion AQM measures the most common gaseous pollutants nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and ozone, with near-reference measurement performance. Incorporating temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure, algorithms compensate for the impact of ambient conditions on the sensor elements. Additionally, Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10) in the ambient air is measured with the AQM Plus. Proprietary algorithms enable ppb measurements at an affordable price using electrochemical sensors. Link to...
