National Big Wind Day Commemorates 1934 World Record

On the afternoon of April 12, 1934, the Mount Washington Observatory recorded the highest natural wind gust on the Earth’s surface at 231 miles per hour. Every year, National Big Wind Day is celebrated on April 12 to commemorate the significant day.
